📚 Hiring: Full Time Teacher Assistant for Year 5 Child with Autism (Cambridge Curriculum) 📚
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Teacher Assistant to support the learning journey of a Year 5 student with autism. The ideal candidate will be a patient, nurturing, and proactive individual with a strong foundation in the Cambridge curriculum, and a genuine passion for helping children thrive academically and emotionally.
Position: Full-Time Teacher Assistant
Location: Nilai International School
Start Date: August
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one academic support in English, Mathematics, Science, Computing, Malay and Chinese, aligned with the Cambridge syllabus.
- Assist with daily homework, assignments, assessments, and exam preparation.
- Offer personalized guidance to enhance the child’s confidence and independence in learning.
- Create a structured and supportive environment that caters to the child’s unique learning style and emotional needs.
- Able to creatively guide learning using a variety of teaching methodologies.
- Work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and therapists to ensure consistent support.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Education or related field preferred).
- Solid understanding of the Cambridge Primary Curriculum.
- Proven experience working with neurodiverse children, particularly those on the autism spectrum.
- Exceptional patience, empathy, and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
- Basic tech proficiency (e.g., Google Classroom, educational apps, etc.).
- Background check and references required.
Preferred Attributes:
- Special Education training or certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with positive reinforcement techniques and sensory care.
- Creative, encouraging, and engaging personality.
