A holistic approach to education allows NIS to instil in students important skills and values such as teamwork, communication and improved cultural understanding. Co-curricular activities play a very important part in this respect and there a whole array of clubs and societies NIS (see table below) which allow for a balanced education.
Regular trips and activities are regularly organised by these clubs and activities which greatly enrich the student experience at NIS. These include community service programmes which inculcate a greater sense of social responsibility in students as well as being character forming.
Specifically, our goals in this regard are to encourage students to:
- Focus on character formation and develop leadership skills
- Strive for excellence by cooperating with team members
- Show patriotism and loyalty to the school
- Gain knowledge and acquire skills that will enable them to experience success in future recreational and athletic endeavors
The co-curricular programme consists of a combination of activities organised by our own staff members and programmes which are conducted by external instructors who charge a nominal fee.
